Hello
As a teacher, guide, international traveler, and fellow creative, I support individuals and teams in unlocking their potential — not just to achieve goals, but to grow into the fullness of who they are. Whether you're navigating a creative block, seeking clarity in your career, or longing to reconnect with purpose, my work is rooted in deep listening, personalized support, and a belief in the sacredness of your path.
I help you identify your core strengths, face challenges with compassion, and move toward your most powerful creative self. I draw upon story, art, ancestral wisdom, and sacred gathering — so that we may remember who we are, restore what has been broken, and imagine a future rooted in dignity, wonder, and justice.
My Story
I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of art, story, and spirit — where transformation begins and healing becomes possible. My journey began with music and theater at the University of the Pacific, where I earned a Bachelor of Music degree. I continued my studies in Los Angeles, completing a Master of Arts in Theater at Cal State LA, and later a Master of Fine Arts in Film Producing at UCLA. Eventually, I returned to UCLA to pursue a Ph.D. in World Arts and Cultures — a natural continuation of my lifelong fascination with how creativity, ritual, and culture shape the human experience.
Over the years, I’ve become deeply interested in how we transform trauma into hope. This curiosity — both personal and collective — has led me across the globe. I’ve traveled to nearly 50 countries, spending meaningful time studying in places like Senegal and Paris, and learning with awe and reverence in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and Burkina Faso. I’ve climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and journeyed to the ancient city of Timbuktu in Mali, carried by the spirit of the Niger River.
For more than 40 years, I’ve worked in education in the Los Angeles Unified School District, focusing on social and restorative justice. Teaching, for me, has always been a sacred act — a chance to hold space for others to grow, remember, and rise. I often weave in the ancient wisdom I’ve encountered through my travels, allowing it to guide how I show up in the classroom and in community.
I’ve had the honor of serving as a three-time Fulbright Fellow in Morocco and participating in a National Endowment for the Humanities Institute exploring the New Deal Era’s Federal Writers’ Project — both experiences that deepened my love of story and culture.
Right now, I’m working on my memoir, Walking on the Edge of the Moon — a reflection on the people, places, and turning points that have shaped my path, and the mysteries that continue to call me forward. My book of poetry, They Came With Empty Hands will be released in the Fall of 2025.
Contact
I believe in the sacred power of connection — the kind that roots us, stirs our spirits, and reminds us we’re not alone. There is quiet magic in gathering with intention, in sharing space where truth can rise and imagination can bloom.
